Frontal Lobe
  • Personality
  • Motor control
  • Emotions
  • Broca's Area = expressive language

 Parietal Lobe
  • Spacial awareness
  • Sensory information
  • Posture
  • Somatosensory cortex (vital to processing body senses, damage to posterior segment leads to unilateral neglect)

 Temporal Lobe
  • Hearing
  • Speech comprehension
  • Hippocampus = memory
  • Wernicke's Area = receptive language

 Occipital Lobe
  • Vision (damage results in homonymous hemianopia)

 Brainstem
  • Life functions

 Cerebellum
  • Balance, posture and co-ordination of movement (damage to results in ataxia)
